I don’t really shop much at JCrew, usually most of their offerings just don’t spark THAT much interest for me. Sometimes I see something, but not alot. But the catalog and recent spring stuff got my attention for one reason; the fact that we get to see a fashion icon that is not 20 years old! JCrew featured Lauren Hutton prominently thruout the recent catalogs and I applaud their choice for many reasons. Not to mention she gives me hope that I too can age gracefully.
Yes, I survived Thxgivn…and managed to have no turkey at all! I know! Crazy but kinda good. Just like some of the great vintage we will be putting up this coming week in the EZPickinz VIntage eBay store for auction! Just a quick list of what we have planned for tomorrow’s shoot…
…and lots more! Stay Tuned!!!
XOXO,

Ok, I admit it. I come back to these rich socialite hippie looks time and again. This vintage Lurex rayon gauze top astounds me; its so ’70s ‘I-am-at-my-incredible-rock-star-encrusted-party-at-my-fabulous-house-on-the beach-in-Malibu-or-the-Greek-Isles-sitting-in-my-wide-leg-jeans-with-a-glass-of-Chardonnay-in-my-hand’ vibe to it. Personally, that sounds good sometimes… In the eBay store this week - EZPickinz Vintage.
Just like Beth at TheVintageSociety, I love a good white dress. They are surprisingly easy to dress around and lately its all about white lace for me! At first too sweet sounding, these seem to be the perfect foil to anything tough or hand-hewn, even to soften up an architectural/avant garde pair of shoes.
Beth does it light and summery with the russet leather accessories…
~And this past week we had this sweet treat in the EzPickinz Shop on eBay:
…We have another white lace lovely up for auction launching today..don’t miss it! Click here to go to the store: EzPickinz Vintage
I am especially glad this year the FPTB (Fashion Powers That Be) have decided to embrace one of my personal favorites. Mens style shoes , oxfords, lace ups, whatever you want to call them. I have been wearing this style for YEARS with EVERYTHING and as long as there are some nice details I always get people asking about my shoes. AND they are comfortable!!! Now maybe they aren’t the stiletto look some admire, and those have their place but for ‘everyday wear with flair’ you can’t beat ‘em in my long wet winter city. I already own about 6 pairs that I have been wearin forever but I still can’t help but look at the offerings coming out!
Here’s a couple Covetables:

ok, so I know you’ve probably heard of Vitamininmotion - she’s pixie cute, kinda craftsy and pretty darn fashion-fearless. I ran across her again today and have to give her a shout out. Seriously - everything she does is spot on! she’s on weardrobe…

Dress: Gap, on sale: $32.99 , Ankle strap platform sandals: Born last year $89, Cuff: Vintage Taxco Mexican silver, thrifted last year $35 (ouch - but I had to have it!), Necklace: I made this, long sterling silver chain - Alexander’s Jewelry supply, about $5 charms; a skeleton key from the BF’s grandmothers house that STILL WORKS to open her front door, and a 70s turquoise star and moon pendant, thrifted about $2
love this no-fear combo! I’m always a sucker for gingham, even tho it’s so picnic. Maybe that’s why I like it - I always think of summer outdoors!
thx to DW’s photostream on Flickr!
Dear Coveters,
Recently we were lucky enough to have a lovely Emilio Pucci for Formfit Rogers bell sleeve beauty in an AMAZING shade of coral! Well, we are pleased to say this rare Pucci has found a new home! An avid and obviously elegant collector was very happy to be the one to snap it up! She shared with us a lovely story about the meaning and milestones that clothing can mark in our lives…
She writes “…it is a rare print to find indeed. My grandparents owned a winter home in Palm Springs from 1975-1986. It was my favorite place to visit and I have always adopted my Grandmother’s style and taste in clothes and furniture. (Mid-Century Modern)

So, I will try to keep up w/dis , however, I have been recently doing some house painting and have been a bit bizzy. In the meantime, there’s a great project over at Square Old Soul that wants your take on the classic white shirt and jeans…one of my favs of all time, personally. The creativity to make it your own is what its all about. Add a little or a lot. Or none at all and focus just on the detailing of the pieces themselves.

This is IT for me… Jane Birkin, perfection.
Have a good wknd, Coveters.
